The Greensport1820 Foundation exists to promote agricultural awareness, education, and community engagement by developing and supporting programs that increase public understanding of agriculture, agribusiness, and sustainable rural practices.

We advance agritourism initiatives that connect people with agricultural heritage while encouraging environmental appreciation and contributing to local economic development through educational tourism and community-based events.
Scholarships & Continuing Education
We support continuing education in agriculture and related fields by providing scholarships to individuals pursuing academic or vocational paths that strengthen agricultural knowledge, sustainability, and rural community development.

Why 1820?
The name Greensport1820 Foundation reflects the deep agricultural roots and longstanding traditions of the region, as Greensport was founded in 1820 by Revolutionary War Veteran, Jacob Green.
That time period represents a time when agriculture, land stewardship, and community were central to everyday life. Those same principles continue to guide the Foundation today — serving for education, sustainability, and community engagement.
By honoring this legacy, the Foundation connects the past to the present through programs that educate, engage, and support the future of agriculture and rural communities.
