November is the month for “Greensport Gratitude.” It reminds us of how much there is to be grateful for — from the guests who return year after year to the breathtaking beauty that surrounds us here at Greensport. This time of year, Alabama puts on one of her finest shows…and we can’t help but stop and stare in awe.
The fall leaves are nearing their peak in Alabama. Before the last one falls, we invite you to slow down, grab your camera (or your favorite travel buddy), and go chasing the colors that remind us what the “season of gratitude” really looks like. The best part is…you don’t have to go far to find it!
Fall Foliage Daytrips Nearby
Cheaha State Park— Delta, AL (About 45 miles from Greensport)
Alabama’s highest point offers panoramic views that’ll make you whisper a “thank you” to the sky itself. The Bald Rock Boardwalk and Pulpit Rock Trail are easy walks that deliver stunning overlooks wrapped in shades of amber, rust, and gold.
Noccalula Falls Park – Gadsden, AL (20 miles from Greensport)
The 90-foot waterfall framed in fiery foliage is one of our favorite nearby treasures. Take the Black Creek Trail for a scenic walk, or stop by the petting zoo and pioneer village for a fun-filled family day.
DeSoto State Park – Fort Payne, AL (55 miles from Greensport)
If there’s a place where fall truly glows, this is it. Waterfalls, canyon views, and more than 25 miles of trails under a c anopy of color make DeSoto worth the short drive north.
Neely Henry Lake – Right Here at Greensport!
Around here, you don’t have to go far to find beauty. Take a slow drive along Greensport Road, and find many places to enjoy the seasonal changes framing Neely Henry Lake. The water reflects a mirror of fall color that’ll make you thankful to call this place home — even if it’s just for the weekend.
Gratitude in Every Shade
Every year, these familiar hills and valleys remind us that thankfulness doesn’t always make a big fuss — sometimes, it just glows quietly in the trees, the sunsets, and the places we share with people we love. This November, we’re celebrating Greensport Gratitude Month by finding joy in the journey, color in the change, and an abundance of “smiles within 60 miles.”
It’s time to pack a cozy blanket, bring your sense of wonder, and come see why autumn in Alabama is something worth being thankful for.
