Today marks the end of 2025– the most wonderful year Greensport RV Park and Marina has ever had–and that is ALL thanks to YOU! This year brought us new friends, new experiences, bigger and better events, new and upgraded family activities, an ever-improving RV Park infrastructure, additional amenities for your family to enjoy, and so much more. Let’s take a quick look back at the fun and excitement from Greensport this year.
Bigger And Better Events
First Annual Pioneer Day – Greensport RV Park
Our First Annual Pioneer Day was a free day of learning and interactive experiences for local public school students and homeschool families last May. Students were invited to celebrate the agricultural heritage of Alabama, from the past, present, and future. Volunteers with expertise in a variety of areas provided the students with hands-on demonstrations and presentations. These included working dogs, forging and blacksmiths, rodeo events, forestry equipment, livestock management, archery, seeds and soil, story-telling, bees and honey production, and so much more.

Mule Day
Mule Day took place the day after Pioneer Day. Mules, Draft Horses, and a variety of working teams came to show their strength and skill by pulling a weighted sled for a set distance. Greensport was buzzing with the sound of jangling harnesses and wagon wheels all day. The rain halted the wagon train parade, but we hope this event will be able to grow and enjoy a dry event this next year! It was a wonderful experience for those that have never seen the beauty and strength of these working teams.

Second Annual Rodeo and Rhythm
The Second Annual Rodeo and Rhythm took place on The Island at Greensport in June. Our friends with Broken Arrow Rodeo Productions helped us put on this incredible rodeo sanctioned by the Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association. It’s not every day that you can enjoy a power-packed rodeo directly on the banks of the Neely Henry Lake! As if that wasn’t enough excitement, Justin Jeansonne, Alabama native and country singer songwriter, rocked The Island after the rodeo until “the cows came home.” It was a weekend to remember, and the perfect sequel to being voted the “SPRA Best New Rodeo” in its first year!

Second Annual Little Tomatina
Greensport’s Little Tomatina is an event you can’t find anywhere else in the Southeast. This year, it was a night of tomato-flying, boot-tapping, family fun, in the south’s largest full blown food fight! River Dan provided the tunes, and Smith Tomato Farm provided thousands of juicy Chandler Mountain tomatoes for people to hurl at their family and friends. Although the original Tomatina Festival originated in Spain, Greensport plans to keep bringing this event with all our southern flair back, year after year.

New Campground Activities For Guests
In addition to the growing public events, Greensport continues to provide family fun for campground guests of all ages each week. This year, we were excited to add some new activities as well as continuing to improve the things that guests were already enjoying. Glow-in-the-dark gellyball fights were added, including special edition “Grinch” and “Bigfoot” hunts! Yard-pong was a favorite during the summer months, along with crafts for the kids, more local live music, campground get-togethers, ladies and men’s themed nights, BINGO, and so much more! Find out more about what is coming up in January on our site, Greensport Events Calendar.

RV Park Growth And Additions
This year, we were excited to finish the addition of the second outdoor pool beside the basketball court. A whole new section of RV sites were completed and made available for use. The two laundry rooms, private bathrooms with showers, jump pillow, basketball court, and other well-loved amenities are continually improved and pristinely maintained. Greensport is continuing its commitment to grow and improve based on customer feedback, and always striving to better the experience and value of every stay for every visitor at our park. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok to stay up-to-date on our continued progress!
